"Richard Chater has been wrapped up in Glasgow’s electronic music scene since the late ‘90s. He started out throwing parties and putting out records from his friends, which somehow spiraled into co-running Numbers—the club nights and label that has dropped music from SOPHIE, Fergus Jones, Rustie, Mosca, Shy One, James Bangura, and more.
By day (and usually well into the night), he works at Rubadub, where he’s been since 2004—importing records from Detroit, helping labels across the world get their music out, and probably trying to convince someone to buy an obscure 12-inch.
A lifelong music hoarder, Richard connects the dots between hip-hop, Detroit techno, house, electro, funk, freestyle, dancehall, soul, R&B, IDM, and whatever mad shit is currently melting his brain."
