Broadcasting monthly on Radio Buena Vida since April 2023, Frequency Consortium drifts through ambient terrains, shadowy dub, and experimental echoes. Guided by Glasgow-based artist Watkins Group, the show traces quiet intensities and submerged rhythms, drawing on transmissions from both local undercurrents and distant sonic outposts.
Out of these broadcasts, a label has also emerged—Frequency Consortium as imprint—extending the signal into physical form, archiving textures that hover between the intimate and the ineffable.
The project is rooted in decades of deep involvement in Glasgow’s electronic music ecosystem. Watkins Group brings over 25 years of experience working at the influential record shop and distributor Rubadub, a cornerstone of the city's scene and far beyond. Alongside this, they've helped steer numerous record labels and underground events, continually shaping and supporting spaces for adventurous sound. Frequency Consortium is both an extension and reflection of that long-standing commitment—broadcasting not just music, but a history of care, curation, and community.
