"You can see Faye – DJ moniker f.aye-i - most days behind the counter at Glasgow Southside’s indie record store Some Great Reward, curating the shop’s shelves to serve the music community of Glasgow, so it’s not surprising to learn that she’s taken this skill to the decks and can often be spotted playing out bar and club sets across the city.
She’s played to some of Glasgow’s best dance crowds - World of Twist, Pass The Ox, Fam, Coorie Doon, Cozytown - and regularly plays bar sets at The Rum Shack and The Glad Café. When Faye’s behind the decks you can expect global sounds with roots in jazz, groove, hip hop and beats, but brings a bag diverse enough to please anyone who wants to dance.
Mixing for radio, Faye plays her fancies of the moment, which could be an hour's deep-dive into the 5 discs on rotation at the time, or a check out of some Record Store Day picks from Some Great Reward. Normally you'll hear a curation including plenty of tracks from Glasgow-based artists, promoting new releases and the occasional first play from indie projects. Often a chance to play more downbeat selections with a little chat about the music (i.e. All Over The Shop radio series co-hosted with Suz (RBV)), Faye’s residency radio shows over the years have been essential to the growth and development of her passion for music and as a curator and selector."
