High Park Funk's residency is all about keeping the funk alive. The show is presented by Tesko who is a prominent figure in Scotland's B-Boy and (body) Poppin scene as well as a producer/DJ/Musician with releases on local label Handpicked Cassettes and further afield on the Modern Funk label, Outrun Records (sister label to Inner Ocean Records).
Expect sounds inspired by the dance scenes around the Palm tree-lined boulevards of California to the concrete cassette pushers in the boogie down Bronx. With analog synthesis, drum machine slaps and dance floor grooves the show digs out boogie funk/post-disco sounds of the 80s as well as modern funk artists from around the globe who are keeping the sound alive.
